TERMS and CONDITIONS

Listed below are the Terms relating to how you may use and make use of our website, and any goods supplied to you via our online store or by postal request. Please read these terms through carefully.

Your use of this website constitutes your acceptance of the Terms and Conditions as detailed within this document below:

 

1. The Website

All content of The Log Basket website, logos and images are the copyright of The Log Basket. No product information, text or images from the website may be reproduced without our written permission.

 

2. Ordering Online

a. Please use the 'How Many Will You Need?' sub-page (within the 'Information' tab on our website) to help you accurately calculate how many bundles of logs you will require to completely fill an alcove or empty fireplace.

b. Please ensure that you enter your personal details accurately when completing your purchase.

c. You may pay for your goods using any credit or debit card. Payments are accepted via Paypal, however you do not need to have a Paypal account to pay. You will notice on our 'Payment' page that you can opt to pay either via your Paypal account (if you have one), or you can select 'Pay With A Debit or Credit Card' to pay without a Paypal account.

d. Once payment has been accepted, you will receive a confirmation email from Paypal. The Log Basket will also send you a confirmation email of your order, with approximate delivery times detailed. The default delivery period is 30 days, unless a longer period is agreed - although The Log Basket always endeavours to deliver your order as quickly as possible. Please see the 'Delivery' tab on the website for current delivery timescales.

e. The Log Basket reserves the right to delay or refuse any orders where a payment transaction contains either incomplete details or details that cannot be verified. We also reserve the right to refuse orders where fraud is suspected.

f. Furthermore, if The Log Basket is unable to procure the full and correct details required or issues remain unresolved, a full refund will only be issued to the card, via Paypal, which was used at the time of purchase. Should this situation arise, we state that a refund will NOT be issued to a third party or an alternative account. No alternative form of refund - or credit - will be offered.

 

3. Ordering by Post

a. Customers may place their order with The Log Basket by post. It is advised that customers telephone us first on 01594 562792, to discuss their intended purchase and therefore ensure all calculations, postal costs and product pricings are correct.

b. Customers may send a cheque to The Log Basket for their order, (made payable to 'The Log Basket'). The cheque should be made out for the total value of the goods, plus appropriate delivery charges. Please ensure that cheques have been signed. Failure to do so will seriously delay your purchase from being dispatched.

c. Kindly enclose a cover note precisely detailing your purchase requirements.

d. We  require that you enclose your personal details as follows: full name, full address including correct postcode and a contact telephone number. Providing a mobile number would also be helpful - this number may then be used by the courier service to text you an ETA on the morning of the delivery.

 

4. Shipping and Customs Duty

a. All orders received by The Log Basket are dispatched subject to availability.

b. Occasionally, delays in delivery/shipping methods can occur that are out of our control. The Log Basket cannot be held responsible for delays caused by industrial disputes or action outside of our control. If such disruption occurs you will be offered the choice of an alternative delivery method or a full refund.

c. Should you order goods from The Log Basket from outside of the United Kingdom, we would point out that the recipient of the goods is responsible for all customs duties and/or tariffs incurred in the country to which the package has been shipped. It is always possible that your order may be delayed upon entering the destination country. The package may be opened and searched by local customs authorities. Our parcels are always safely and thoroughly packaged, however we cannot be responsible for damage caused as a result of customs searches. (Please note that we cannot provide specific advice on duties or tariffs).

 

5. Your Cancellation Rights, Returns and Refunds for Non-Faulty Products

a. We want you to love your log products, however if for any reason you would like to cancel/return your purchase, you may do so. We ask that you notify us promptly in writing of your decision; you may either email The Log Basket (keith@thelogbasket.co.uk) or send a letter. You have 14 days from the day after you have received your goods to cancel your order. Notification of your decision should reach us within those fourteen days. (Should your order arrive in multiple packages, the '14 days' runs from your receipt of the last package). You then have a further 14 days to return the goods to us.

b. In order for you to cancel your purchase, return the goods or request a refund, the goods must be in a saleable condition. They must be complete bundles and unused. The only exception to this rule is if the goods supplied by The Log Basket are faulty. (Please bear in mind that products sold by The Log Basket are natural, rustic wood products and as such will bear natural imperfections. Splits/cracks/fissures can occur during the drying processes. NONE of these features constitute being a faulty item).

c. Please note that personalized goods and custom orders may not be returned - unless they are defective in any way.

 

6. Returns Procedure

Non-Faulty Products

1. Please firstly inform The Log Basket via email or letter post of your intention to return the item within the 14 day timescale.

2. Repackage the unused product - in its original packaging wherever possible; please seal the parcel carefully - logs are heavy!!

3. A RETURNS FORM will be included with your goods. Please list the goods that you wish to return for a refund and detail the reason for return; enclose this form within the parcel to be returned. Please keep the ORDER SUMMARY for your records.

4. If returning via Royal Mail, please clearly label the parcel using the RETURNS ADDRESS LABEL(s) - enclosed in your parcel(s). Take the parcel to the Post Office and use a 'sign for' delivery service.

5. Alternatively, please arrange for a courier to collect/return the parcel to us.

Please ensure that you obtain a receipt of postage/certificate of postage/tracking or consignment number/proof of postage when returning the goods. (This may be required by The Log Basket in order to proceed with your refund).

 

Within 14 days of receiving the returned goods, The Log Basket will refund the total purchase price of the returned goods, including the outward basic delivery charge. The Log Basket will not, however, refund any next day/guaranteed/express elements or any charges over and above the basic delivery cost.

Please note: When returning an item for a refund to The Log Basket that is not faulty, please be aware that you, the customer, are responsible for paying any postage/delivery costs incurred to return the product. (In the event of a package being incorrectly sent by The Log Basket, or if the product has been returned to us due to a defect, The Log Basket will also refund the basic postage/delivery charge incurred to return the goods. Please note The Log Basket will not refund any guaranteed/next day/express/other element othat is over and above the basic delivery or postage charge).

 

7. Faulty Products

a. If your item is defective it may be returned to The Log Basket for a replacement or full refund, within 30 days of receiving your order.

(If the 30 days have elapsed - but within 6 months from the date of purchase - you may opt to have the goods replaced or receive a partial refund. Please note, as stated above (5b), that products made and sold by The Log Basket are of natural wood with a rustic appearance and will, therefore, contain natural imperfections and splits/cracks/fissures. These often appear during the drying processes - these are NOT deemed to be defects).

b. Please inform The Log Basket of any defects or faults that your item has as promptly as possible.

c. Repackage the goods securely and return them to: The Log Basket, 14 Ironstone Close, Bream, Lydney, Gloucestershire. GL15 6HF - using a 'sign for' service. Please obtain proof of postage/certificate of postage/tracking or consignment number when returning parcels to us, to aid your refund.

Upon receipt of the returned goods within the 30 day timescale, The Log Basket will refund the purchase price of the faulty goods, the basic cost of outward postage and the basic delivery charge incurred in returning a product, if the product has been returned due to a fault. Please note that we will not refund any guaranteed or next day / express element of any delivery or postage charge.

 

8. Customer Complaints

The Log Basket endeavours to respond to any queries or customer complaints sent via email (see below for address details) within three working days. Please include a contact telephone number within a letter sent to us.

 

9. Events beyond our control

Despite the best will in the world, sometimes things conspire against us. The Log Basket is not liable for any delay in you receiving your items, or failure to perform any obligation under these Terms and Conditions if the delay or failure is caused by any circumstances beyond our reasonable control. Such circumstances include, but are not limited to: acts of God, war, civil disorder, natural disaster or industrial dispute.

 

 

The Terms and Conditions, as detailed above, will be enforced in accordance with English law. Your statutory rights are unaffected.

The Log Basket reserves the right to alter these Terms and Conditions at any time, without prior notice.
